As the clock struck midnight on December 31st and the year changed from 2013 to 2014, hopefully you took a moment to reflect, remember and in some cases, plan for change.

For those of us who work in the world of technology and the ever-evolving Internet, change is nothing new. Internet technologists have come to expect – and possibly thrive on – the anticipation of change. Just as important as adapting to a change, however, is the ability to plan before making the transformation.

As you can see in this graphic designed by our lovely and talented creative designer, Chelsea, we at Unidev and The Net Impact managed to stay busy in 2013. We encountered several changes in the way we serve our client’s SEO needs and transformed how we manage each task and project. To adapt to the changes of our industry and stay on top of our game, we sent a combined 14 staff members to 10 different conferences from New York to San Francisco to Austin and a few cities in between.

Take a moment to review the additional measurements shown below. I am proud to say I contributed to not only the conference miles traveled, but definitely the amount of coffee consumed.

Last year brought the companies even more changes and growth through new partnerships, projects, events, clients, outreach efforts, endeavors and employees. One of our most promising partnerships was our involvement with LaunchCode. This St. Louis mentorship program aims to keep developer talent in the region by providing opportunities for job placement through paired programming. James and Andrew joined us through LaunchCode and have made fabulous additions to our team!

Part of the mission at Unidev and The Net Impact is to focus on excellence in every project we complete. In 2013, we emphasized quality by launching 25 websites boasting state-of-the-art web design, improved usability, intuitive navigation, ADA best practices, and cutting-edge SEO marketability.

Last year the company launched our first ever Community Outreach Committee! In 2013, we supported The Kingdom House and St. Patrick Center. Follow us on Facebook to see photos of the 900+ items we collected during the holiday season!

One final accomplishment of 2013 was our partnership with the University of Nevada-Las Vegas Business Startup Center. We hope to offer more complimentary consultations to startup entrepreneurs in 2014!

With another great year complete, here’s what we have to look forward to in 2014:

  • We continue to support the small business community and were privileged to be named Best Web Design 2014 by Small Business Monthly. What an honor!
  • Steve Thomas was appointed to Vice President of Business Development and Director of Ecommerce Solutions. He will evolve our first-class ecommerce practice area while focusing on our Las Vegas office operations and clientele.
  • Andrea Bemis, long-time Unidev and The Net Impact pioneer, will serve as the Director of Sales and Marketing for both companies. Andrea is known among some of our high-profile clients as the best in the business.
  • We are a proud sponsor of the 53rd Annual St. Louis American Marketing Association Conference. If you attend, be sure to say hi to our very own Angela LaRocca. She was just nominated to join the AMA Board!

What does 2014 have in store for each of us? Only time will tell. Until then, we navigate through the change and use the knowledge, experience and connections gained to shape our futures for something bigger and better.

Interesting post and great to hear that this company is able to speak to the impact of their efforts within the community. I truly believe that community outreach is vital to the success of any thriving business. In addition, the ability to be flexible in this particular business market is the key to survival. The technological world that we live in is in flux, a company that is able to anticipate the transformation of technology will surely have the upper hand in the market…good luck in 2014!
